The recently conducted Break the Stigma campaign, spearheaded by the United Student Advocate, served as a meaningful initiative in promoting inclusion, awareness, and respect for diversity among the Young Key Population of Brgy. 176-A. True to its commitment to leading the change toward ending stigma and discrimination based on identity, the campaign was conducted in partnership with Athena by LoveYourself in celebration of Pride Month.
Candy Jane facilitated the discussion on Navigating SOGIESC, helping participants better understand sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics, while Jasper Turalba led the HIV 101 session, providing essential information on HIV prevention, testing, and treatment. To further support the community, Athena by LoveYourself offered free HIV testing, condom distribution, and same-day enrollment to Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), ensuring that participants had access to both knowledge and life-saving health services.
Through education and direct service delivery, the campaign empowered young people to become advocates for equality, health, and stigma-free communities.
